The incredible importance of summer learning

“CitySprouts school gardens have exposed thousands of children to fresh produce, which has helped boost the popularity of vegetables in school meals. The Summer Internship program inspires middle school students to become ambassadors for fresh and local food.”
José Wendel, manager of Nutrition Programs at the Cambridge Public Health Department and CitySprouts donor

Big thanks to José and everyone else who donated yesterday to keep our Summer Youth Internship free and accessible for all! We’re now on day two of our lighting campaign to give 100 middle schoolers the summer they deserve. We only have a little time left, so please give now!

We know that summer learning is crucial for academic success. Summer learning loss in low-income kids counts for more than half of the achievement gap by ninth grade. CitySprouts gives all kids the chance to keep learning long after the last school bell rings.

We still need your help to keep this essential program tuition-free. Please donate today.
