See a Sprout, Share a Sprout: A Social Media Challenge!

As a proud sponsor of CitySprouts, STAG Industrial set out to explore virtual opportunities for our employees to get involved with the organization during the coronavirus pandemic. That is how we came up with the #SeeASproutShareASprout challenge, a social media challenge that is designed to spread awareness about CitySprouts’ mission and the wonderful programs it offers to kids in the Boston area. Having partnered with CitySprouts for 5 years, STAG understands that the number of children interested in participating in its programs increases every year; we want to help keep that momentum going!
After some brainstorming with Jane Hirschi, executive director, and Alexandra Lennon-Simon, communications & development manager, we agreed that a social media challenge is a fun, safe and effective way to raise awareness about CitySprouts in our virtual communities. Plus, who doesn’t love seeing beautiful homegrown plants on their news feed?!
While we are excited that this challenge will give employees the chance to engage with and support the organization, the purpose remains to get the word out about CitySprouts. So, the more participants, the merrier! Starting on Monday, August 17th, the #SeeASproutShareASprout challenge will go live on Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. To participate in the challenge, follow the guidelines below:
#SeeASproutShareASprout Guidelines:
Take a photo of a plant you have been caring for or are planting
Post to your favorite social media site (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn *story posts work too!)
In your caption, use #SeeASproutShareASprout, and tag 3 friends to pass it on
*Add a caption that raises awareness about CitySprouts’ mission or programs (check out the Mission & Impact page for more details)
*If you are posting to Instagram or Facebook, make sure to tag @CitySprouts
*Feel free to use additional hashtags like #GrowingTogether or #CultivateWonder in your caption

That’s why I am challenging @friend1 @friend2 @friend3 to help @STAGIndustrial raise awareness about the amazing opportunities that @CitySprouts has to offer to kids in the Boston community. This access to hands-on science learning offered by CitySprouts allows youth of all backgrounds to excel in science, a field where there are significant barriers for lower income youth.
